George Livanos, CPA
George Livanos is a principal in the Tax Department of Sax Macy Fromm, & Co., PC, (SMF), specializing in corporate, partnership and individual income taxation. A tax practitioner since 1986, his experience includes working with both publicly and privately-held businesses to ensure compliance with the tax laws, advise clients on the impact of proposed business transactions and the potential effects of proposed tax legislation.
He is the Tax Principal-in-Charge of the firm’s Real Estate Industry Services Group providing tax consulting services to real estate developers, owners and operators. George is also the Principal-in-Charge of the firm’s Cost Segregation Study Practice Group.
He coordinates special tax consulting services, such as estate and gift tax planning, individual and corporate income tax planning and tax planning for multi-state corporations. In addition, he has experience serving clients in the Financial Services Area, including broker-dealers and hedge funds.
George is a member of the Education Committee of the New Jersey chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Park Owners (NAIOP) and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the New York and New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.
He frequently lectures on tax planning and real estate tax issues to the real estate community and other industry groups.
He is a Certified Public Accountant in both New Jersey and New York. George received both his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and his Master’s degree in Taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
