Michael A. Mongelli, CPA
Michael A. Mongelli is a principal with Sax Macy Fromm & Co., PC and is the Director of the firm's Real Estate Industry Services Group. He has been practicing in the field of public accounting for over 25 years. He has extensive experience handling individual, partnership, and corporate tax issues for closely held businesses and their owners, including the effective use of pass-through entities.
Michael has significant experience in the accounting and tax aspects of real estate transactions, including the specialized area of condominiums and cooperatives and other Common Interest Realty Associations (CIRA's). Michael actively works with real estate developers, owners, and operators involved in the acquisition, construction, conversion, and management of multi-family residential and commercial real estate projects. He has also been representing clients in tax audits before the Internal Revenue Service, the State of New Jersey, New York Divisions of Taxation, and other state and local taxing jurisdictions throughout his career.
Michael's industry expertise is diverse, and includes real estate, nursing homes and assisted living centers, manufacturing, and professional service firms.
Michael has lectured to other professionals on tax and auditing topics, and has authored various articles on tax and accounting matters which have been published in major professional journals. He has also been quoted on tax planning techniques in various publications.
Michael obtained a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from William Paterson University and is a certified public accountant in
New Jersey and New York. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of
Certified Public Accountants, and serves on the executive committee of North Jersey Network Associates, Inc.
