Tax Season Internships
The tax season internship provides you with the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to the real world. You will have the chance to prepare a variety of tax returns during our busy season. It is an excellent opportunity to learn about taxation and see what a public accounting firm is really like during tax season.
The paid internship program runs from January through April. As an intern, you can expect to work about 20 hours per week, working a flexible schedule based upon your class schedule. We will train you on the basics of taxation and the Firm's software, including our paperless program. You will interact with principals, managers, and supervisors and you will be assigned a mentor who will provide support and guidance to you during your internship. There is also an opportunity to acquire a full-time position at the end of the internship!
If you are an Accounting major and have completed 60 to 90 credits, we encourage you to apply for this internship. Completion of at least one tax course is a plus. You can forward your resume through your school's Career Development Center or email it to HR@smf-cpa.com.
