State and Local Taxation Studies

Municipalities need money to operate. Guess who they're coming after.

State and Local Taxes (SALT) can often equal or exceed a company's federal tax liability. Most states are looking for new ways to raise revenue and the areas of income/franchise and sales/use taxation are being aggressively enforced. However, there still exists a lack of uniformity across the states, making it a complex process to manage business operations in multiple locations.

This area of taxation frequently changes and we have dedicated tax resources to staying up-to-date on the latest developments so that you are never at risk.

We have distinguished ourselves from other firms by developing the SALT Opportunity Study (SOS), designed to familiarize you and your key executives with relevant aspects of state and/or local income and franchise tax, sales and use tax, and nonresident payroll tax withholding and property taxes. We will clarify your needs, help you to set priorities, identify problem areas, analyze such things as noncompliance liabilities and compliance costs, suggest and implement solutions, and can even train your employees.
